We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Solicitor to join a busy Family department for a well-established firm in Derby

The role of Family Solicitor will involve:

  • Advise and represent clients by undertaking fee earning tasks and promoting the efficient management of the Family department’s activities.
  • Offer support and guidance to junior colleagues and staff within the Family department
  • Contribute to the efficient and profitable performance of the Family department
  • Assist and participate with training initiatives taken by the firm
  • Comply with SQM and all internal transaction criteria and procedures
  • Comply with the firm’s Office Manual
  • Maintain client confidentiality and legal professional privilege
  • Contribute to monitoring and maintenance of file review system
  • Assist with induction and training of newly recruited staff

The ideal candidate for the role of Family Solicitor will have:

  • A minimum of 2 years PQE
  • Solid experience of general family law with an emphasis on divorce and private law children and domestic violence
  • Provide a high-quality legal service to all clients.
  • Excellent communication skills - experience in dealing with clients via telephone and face-to-face is essential
  • The ability to organise and prioritise workload
  • Self-sufficient and able to build own caseload
